Synopsis:
Drama series set in the world of the 24-hour World News Service (WNS) -- also known as "The Beast." Jackson Burns, founder of WNS, feels he must turn the cameras on his reporters to ensure their credibility and guarantee that the public gets the whole truth. Magazine reporter Alice Allenby finds that WNS is a frightening product of technology that crosses the line of propriety into voyeurism and sensationalism. Other characters include: Reese McFadden, a reporter with a thirst to open the public's eyes to the truth; Ted Fisher, a newsperson of unrivaled experience whose temper has cost him many jobs; Tamir Naipaul, a producer whose innate curiousity and disarming personality allow him to track stories that others would overlook; Maggie Steech, who keeps things running with her ability to juggle multiple tasks; Mrs. Sweeny, the primary manager of Jackson Burns' life, whose edgy wit and brutal honesty keeps the staff in tow; and Sonya Topple, a reporter determined to become a star.
