Sporting impeccable Hollywood lineage--Goldwyn is the grandson of legendary industry pioneer and long-time independent producer Samuel Goldwyn and son of successful independent producer/distributor Samuel Goldwyn Jr.--he rose from the proverbial mail room at the Ladd Company which he joined in 1981 to vice president of the company's creative affairs department two years later. Goldwyn also served as executive producer of "Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment" (1985) before joining MGM/UA as senior production vice president that year where he rose to executive vice president of worldwide production in 1988; while at MGM he shepherded such hits as "Moonstruck" (1987) and "A Fish Called Wanda" (1988) as well as overseeing production on "Fatal Beauty" (1987) "Masquerade" (1988), and "Daddy's Dyin'....

Sporting impeccable Hollywood lineage--Goldwyn is the grandson of legendary industry pioneer and long-time independent producer Samuel Goldwyn and son of successful independent producer/distributor Samuel Goldwyn Jr.--he rose from the proverbial mail room at the Ladd Company which he joined in 1981 to vice president of the company's creative affairs department two years later. Goldwyn also served as executive producer of "Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment" (1985) before joining MGM/UA as senior production vice president that year where he rose to executive vice president of worldwide production in 1988; while at MGM he shepherded such hits as "Moonstruck" (1987) and "A Fish Called Wanda" (1988) as well as overseeing production on "Fatal Beauty" (1987) "Masquerade" (1988), and "Daddy's Dyin'...Who's Got the Will" (1990). Joining Paramount in 1990, Goldwyn was closely involved with the production of "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country" (1991) and "Wayne's World" (1992). In December 1991, he was named president of production of Paramount's Motion Picture Group overseeing the development and production of Paramount's films. By 1997, he was promoted to the newly created post of president, motion pictures and signed to a five-year contract. Married to actress Colleen Camp and brother of actor Tony Goldwyn.
